2011 DFP Holiday Harvest Telethon

The trustees of the Dedham Food Pantry want to express deep gratitude to those who helped out with and contributed to the Holiday Harvest Telethon in 2011. The funds raised will go far in helping us with our mission to provide supplemental food to qualified Dedham residents.

The folks at Dedham TV under the energetic leadership of Executive Director: Donna Greer, were instrumental in providing the dynamic venue for the telethon last month.
We thank the hosts Greg Agnew, Brian Keaney and Eileen Kelly of Sheepskate for their dedication through out the night. Guest appearances by local Fox 25 newscasters: Maria Stephanos and Mark Ockerbloom charged up the night. We thank Jay Donahue and Jack Moran, veteran and rookie Santas. Brianna Borgi, Miss Massachusetts High School America, made a passionate plea for the Dedham Food Pantry. Lindsey Grier, Young Miss Celebrity shared her smiles and food for the event as well. We appreciate the entertainment offered by Dedham’s poet laureate Christopher Reilley, and the Irish Rambler Dan Hallissey.

Guest appearances included the Dedham Board of Selectmen, Marilyn Keegan of Seniors on the Move, Ron Pucci of the Dedham Police, Michelle DiSimone of Needham Bank, Robert Rand and Kim Lorie of the Dedham Diner, Paul Lyons of Coldwell Banker, Doug Warner of Kings Bowling, and Kristine Anderson former President of the Dedham Food Pantry, and State Representative Paul McMurtry.

Behind the scenes, leading up to the event were the tireless workers of the planning committee: Jean May, Lisa O’Connor, Peggy Velasquez, Beth & Daniel Emery, John Bertsch, Janet Holmes, Ann Maida, Trustees: Brian Rogal, Cindy Barich, Janine Murphy, Julie Bertsch, Bob Samonte, David Jennings, Lynn Rogal, Andrea O’Rourke and Nancy Samya.

Staffed by volunteers, the Dedham Food Pantry has been serving the needs of Dedham residents for more than 20 years. Currently there are 250 families utilizing the pantry. We rely on the generosity of our neighbors near and far to help accomplish this important mission. We are extremely grateful for all of the individuals and organizations who help us throughout the year and particularly during the Holiday Harvest Telethon.
